That's messed up, the officer should have made out a report. That's the documentation you need to get your insurance company to go after her insurance company. I would have demanded a report be filed, like I always do.

the officer DID do a police report, but he said that i wasn't enough damage for him to give it to the insurance company, although he did say that it was up to us if we wanted to give it to the insurance companies or not. i am going to get some estimates done first thing in the morning. the only thing that i am worried about is that she will turn hers in first and say it was my fault. you guys think that she can do that?
Also after inspection under the car tonight, the fender just came off the screws. nothing seemed to be really badly damaged, but this is to the untrained eye.

i got first estimate today. the amount is $1,074.88. i didn't think that it would be that much.

A guy once hit me from the back and just the bumper was badly messed up, the frame did get a little bent but was still ok. I went to get an estimate and it would come out to like $500 so I told they guy and got the money, then went to a junk yard and bought one for $100 and painted it myself. So I ended up getting around $350 for myself.

Good news every one i got the car back from body shop today. And I have to say that the guy did really well. I am pleased with the results. Here is the after picture. Sorry that the picture isn't that good, but it was taken with my cell phone camera. The guy painted the whole bumper, and from the rear driver door on back. and you can tell that it has been painted recently. oh well now i have an excuse to get it painted. I want to go with white, if you guys have any suggestions then let me have then.
