I was reading my Honda's owners manual and it says that I need a special tool to change the filter.. is this true and what kind of tool? Thanks!!!

PS I have 2001 Civic LX Coupe 5-speed

Use the same tools you have always used.

 

I use a rubber-loop wrench:-D Dollar store kind...

 

Cool thanks! I didn't know if the 2001 models had some sort of weird twist when it came to changing the oil..

 

u dont NEED a filter wrench, u can twist it off with ur hands. just note that when u are putting the new filter in, do not use the filter wrench, tighten it by hand to avoid over tightening..

 

sounds like we got he-man on this board[8D] i use a filter wrench.....adjustable pliers type not the strap type......works like a charm for me..
