I don't understand why everyone gets so ticked when someone revives an old thread...i mean why lock it cuz someone brings it back. I don't do it, but others do and sometimes the conversation picks up again, its going well, and then all of a sudden it gets locked for no reason (well, cuz its old) i kinda don't get it.

+1 I have seen that on numerous forums. The reasons forums exist is to talk about what you love and take away boredom, i would rather see older threads brought up instead of seeing people ask the same questions such as which CAI is best? lol[8D]

Im not sure on which thread your talking about that got locked, but Im sure it was more of a reason then that it was old.

Im happy when people bring back old threads because they ask a question about the topic. I hate when people bring them back to say "that looks good man" when they did whatever like a year ago.

There have been numerous threads brought back for no good reasons. Most were brought back by the same person also.

LOL

Bringing back an old thread is perfectly acceptable if you have something productive to say, or it relates to something you are doing, or you have a que4stion on it, but bringing back an old thread just to say "oh i c" or "lol" is stupid and idiotic. and doing it repeatedly for no reason at all is even worse

bringing back 1+ year old FS threads where the item has already been sold asking "do you still have this" is pretty bad.

there are two kinds of threads that get brought up.

one is a tech thread, and like fallfast said, those arent completely useless. it is better for a new member to find an old thread and add onto it than to start the same thread, over again.

on the other hand, post ****** will dig through old posts and add such profound statements such as "yeah" or "ok", in a thread that is a year old, and wasnt even important when it was started in the first place. typically threads in OT or S&S have some time relevance to them, so when someone joins the forum a year after "can my Si beat a 95 camaro SS" was originally posted and says "you got him", the odds are good that they have already found out who won.
