while post whoring is a problem at some sites, i dont think that is the case here, but when people bring up a political debate or a sports discussionfrom over a year ago, there is no point, as the topic has generally been solved.


now, i have seen a newbie (at another site) bring up an entire page of posts that were two-three years old...and thats ridiculous.

They only lock threads that have been brought back for no reason. They can't lock all the revived old threads because that would pretty much ruin the moto of "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!"

i thought locking the thread only made it so you cant reply...but you could still read everything??

Yeah, but if somebody has a question that wasn't completely anwered, they still have to make a whole new thread for the same topic...

I get what you're saying though. That's only IF their question was actually answered in the thread before it was locked.

the problem is, people will bump a thread from 2 years ago to ask a follow-up question, BUT NOBODY SEES IT. Everyone RE-answers the first question on page one, not the last post on the last page of the thread. Then the question doesn't get answered anyway.
