ROTM, ROTY. Whatever....
I voted for ROTY for Caleb. Not only does his mod list go on forever, but hes one of the ppl who make this forum wat it is. I dont mean just cause i talk to him on the forum or anything, but because he has a lot of knowledge and is always willing to share all that he can with any member, wether they are a newbie who signed up yesterday, or a veteran member.
ROTM was impossibly hard this month. I ended up voting for Xoop cause he took an ordinary civic sedan and made it nicer than my Si IMO. Not that many people (with the exception of Remmy) would mod a sedan, and pull it off like Xoop did. But to be completely honest, the ROTM was mostly between Xoop, Super D!, and XCM for me this month.
I also hate that there is so much arguing this month. Last month, even after I lost, I thought Forty deserved the win and congratulated him. I wasnt bummed that I didnt win, I was ecstatic that I was nominated in the first place. I still felt like a newbie around here, and it was nice that someone thought I should be in the competition. Hopefully this is not the direction this forum is going.
One more thing..
This is completely true. When I told you guys I sold the Si, a lot of ppl suggested the Evo of STI. I appreciated all of your opinions, but even after I said I cant buy either of those, lots of ppl continued to suggest them. Even in a thread yesterday. Im not trying to be mean by saying this, but its pointless to suggest something to me, that I have already stated I cant have.
Ok, Im done ranting now. Sorry if I offended anyone.

When someone comes on here and wants to know what basic mods they can do to increase the fun factor, swapping IS NOT a basic mod. Intake, header, cat-back... those are basic mods.

umm..evidently we have had some members who were trying to vote for ROTY, but when they went to the ROTY poll, there was no option to vote, and it already showed the results. If this is happening to anyone else, please PM me with who you want to vote for, and i will enter your vote manually. several of these people are AOL users, for what its worth.
Nicee car MD. Ive never seen pics of it before. I love the white on white look with the rims and the grill and everything. And the clear corner headlights look cleann. That sucks that you wrecked it.
Civicboy, you're missing the point, voting isn't even over yet.
I usually end up voting for people who have been around for a while, because I know the story of their car and all the work they have put into it. I respect that.
I was totally screwing around when I suggested the Evo, and I was surprised to see people take it seriously. I didn't really think you would be getting one.

You dont have to apologize, its not like it hurt my feelings or anything. Im just saying, in the thread about my friends evo and in my thread about selling it, ppl continued to suggest it, after i said i couldnt. and it went with wat Adam was saying about suggesting swaps and turbos and s/c to ppl who are just talking about bolt ons.
And Marnie..I didnt mean you. I wish I could have an Evo. And after I said I couldnt have one, I think I remember you saying something like .. A girl can dream.. and thats cool cause you got wat I was saying about how it would be sweet to have one, but its not gonna happen.
And I guess this might be as good a time as ever, but with buying a new car, Ive decided not to go for hp's. Im just trying to find something reliable, cute, and some good gas mileage since Im commuting again. I never took the Si to a track or anything. Hell I barely raced anyone in it. I loved that car, but I kinda went through the stage of wanting to race ppl about a month after I bought it. Sorry to thread jack, I just dont think that little statement deserves a whole thread.

amg, I totally agree, somewhere along the lines recently the moral of this forum has dropped. Theres always been an irritating member here and there, and thats to be expected, but it has gotten out of hand as of late. I still think this place is better than most others out there, if for no other reason than the regular members. When was the last time anyone saw a fight between HCF veterans?? Sure, theres heated debate once in a while, but that's why we're here, and no one goes home butt hurt over it.
As far as why I vote one way or another, it depends on a few things. How much wrench turning did the owner actually do? What kind of difficulties did they run into, and how did they overcome them? What was the owners overall goal, and what are they doing to achieve it? Did they just go out and buy the most popular I/H/E becuase someone told them to, or did they research the topic and figure out whats best/most fitting to their needs? Of course, theres always a little presentation involved as well. It never hurts to clean up your car real nice, but its by no means more important that how your car accelerates/handles/brakes.
...Sniper, I appreciate what you said about me in your first rant. It means a lot coming from someone who I know pays close attention to every detail.

Wow, crap like this happens on every forum board. People vote for who they want, via their preferences, or some cases who they know. ROTY should be about people voting , and a winner being congratulated by everyone when its all over. Not people whining about how the rest of the forum is voting. You can't change other people's tastes. What ever happened to good sportsmanship?[>:]
