Default smoking tails....legal question.

Before you say anything. The search feature is all screwed up and will not let me search for ANYTHING.

O.K. now that you know why I am posting here and not searching like a good HCF member on to the question.

I have been searching Google, ask, yahoo, etc all night trying to find out if smoking your tail lights is legal in GA. I have come up with exactly nada, zilch, zip, zero, nil, nothing.....you get the picture. Anyway, if you know where on the internet's green circuits to find that info please for the love of vtec let me know. I got a can of nightshades dropped in my lap today and its itching to get on my tails.

Go to your local police station and ask them. They will tell you, yes, it's illegal. Then go home. lol. You can't do anything "legally" to your car.

If you're using Nightshades, go coat by coat. You can always add another coat but you can't remove a coat so take it slow.

IDK about GA, but here in ohio, I see cars and trucks with completely black tail lights (mostly trucks though). At one point I wanted to buy black tails for my BMW and strangly enough - they were made by OEM manufacturer (Hella).

^^^ Yeah around here a lot of trucks have them. Only problem is the local cops dont do **** to the rednecks that drive trucks with 180 db exhausts. And I know that if I go ask at the court house they will say "Yes it is illegal" without even looking it up.

thanks Guys and Girls.

^ same here, they do it on their headlights too, but not tinting, actual smoked plastic covers that they put over the head/taill lights

I'm pretty sure that as long as the red still shows through (particularly the reflector) it's okay. Next time your out look at a chevy trailblazer, they come from the factory with lightly tinted brake lights.
