i got a big fat ticket for having an aftermarket exhaust system and blue corner lights on my accord mad dumb ****
1) the laws of massachusettes strictly state that modification of your factory exhaust system for "performance" or not, is considered a violation of the emissions control systems, and hence, illegal. shops found to be performing these violations, can have any emissions testing priveledges revoked, and can be discredited.

2) blue in any of your lights, is always illegal, I don't know of a state where it is legal, so really, you're the foolish one for even thinking it was a good idea in the first place

I'm pretty sure that as long as the red still shows through (particularly the reflector) it's okay. Next time your out look at a chevy trailblazer, they come from the factory with lightly tinted brake lights.

This is most likely the truth. If Georgia has a safety inspection for vehicles coming from out of state, I would call such inspection facility and ask what the laws regarding tail lights are.

I'm pretty sure it's a requirement in most places, that your parking lights and reflectors be visible, and that turn signals, brake lights and reverse lights be clearly visible at all times.

Basically, you could probably get away with a light to medium tinting, but definitely not blacking them out entirely

If you're using Nightshades, go coat by coat. You can always add another coat but you can't remove a coat so take it slow.

not true at all!!!!!!!!

you can sand off the nightshades just fine! ive done it SEVERAL TIMES!!!! and each time the tails looked stock and looked even beter than when i got them cause now all the scratches where smoothed out....
just dont be stupid and use paint striper or ruff sandpaper... i used 2,000 grit sandpaper with lots of water.... takes time BUT comes right off with some water sanding!

but ya id say its illegal.........
just for a few reasons... one must have rear reflectors... most need to be red... if ya tint the tails the reflectors are blocked preaty good.....

then if ya tint the whole things the lights are blocked preaty good....

thats why i left some of my tails clear and used some colored leds for brake lights.... BUT technicaly im sure i could get ticketed for mine....... i wouldnt fight it.LOL but if anything its just either a fix it ticket or equipment violation..... so no points on your liscence just a $$ ticket....

but if ya do get pulled over just beg for a fix it ticket.... sand it off or slap some stockers back on.... and eventualy swap em back IF ya want to

Check StreetGlow's web site... they have a section in the forums about state laws regarding any kind of lighting. I know there are states that allow colored turn signals... I got bored one time and read every single state's laws. But honestly, I'm too lazy to bring up specific examples. If you want to look for your state's particular laws, the link is http://www.streetglow.com/forums/ind...showtopic=1655... unfortunately, it doesn't say anything about tint.

Regarding tint, I'd say tint them lightly. I doubt a cop will give you a ticket for tinted tails unless he or she is having a very bad day. More than likely, you'll get off with a 5-day card.
