Your friend is one of VERY FEW people that got lucky. For everyone one happy vr6 Jetta owner, there are 10,000 that contemplate setting their car on fire, daily.


To OP: It doesn't get much more reliable than a Honda. No idea what happened with your last car, but when a Civic goes down, it's typically user/driver error long before mechanical error.
