Rammed a large metal door into my unprotected big toe this morning
Ripped my toenail clean off.
Except for the lil piece of skin that was holding all of my nail on
Had to go and spend 3 hours in the doctor's office
And then 20 minutes at the pharmacy
And then getting crutches that smell like crap from Goodwill
And then puking my guts out while at work
It's not a good idea to try to go in the "out" door at the Convenient Foodmart
It's also not a good idea to take antibiotics and darvasette (sp?) on an empty stomach
I have a large cartoon-like gauze bandage on my big toe. It hurts like hell. I also feel like a complete idiot.
I now understand why the Japanese used this as a form of torture.

ur funny i wish i could run around bare foot. Oh wait nevermind i do that in the evening time any ways but im always careful and look down at the ground so i dont rip off a toenail.

but hope you get better.

 

cant imagine how much that hurt, i broke my thumb about 3 weeks ago and was amazed at the amount of pain, i thought the same thing about how it makes sense people use it as torture lol

 

Yeah, Darvocet is especially unforgiving to empty stomachs.

 

Owwwwwwww... that sucks.

The closest I can come to that is when I was putting hurrican ties on roof trusses at work a few months back (using a freakin' 26oz hammer and swingin' the thing like I meant it) and managed to get my middle finger between the steel tie and my hammer... couldn't feel it for about 4 hours, but when I got the feeling back in it, it hurt like h**l (for about a week)... got a blood blister on both sides of my finger, and the nail tried to fall off a day or two later (medical taped that b***h down for a while lol)... it never did manage to fall all the way off.

Anyway, I digress... hope you feel better soon... toenails take a loooooong time to grow out...

Welcome to the club! I was moving a fridge last winter and I did that too, pulling it through my basement with no shoes on (only socks) and pulled it too hard and ripped off my big toe nail. Luckily this was at 3am and I drove myself to the hospital and it took me 20 mins to get it over with. There was a huge bandage but it still fit in my shoe. It healed up just fine. I'd rather not do it over again...

9 days later and my toe is still killing me.
I dropped a dime onto my toe this morning and just about burst into tears.
Since then I've been in a ridiculous amount of pain all day.
It got worse towards the end of work (about 10pm)
It hurts all the way to the bone.
I have now started crying again.
My darvocet hasn't kicked in yet
I'm close to cutting my toe off with a band saw.

damn wimp lol j/k, i ripped a toe nail off before and it hurts like hell so i know what your going through give it time cause it takes alot time to heal. oh don't cut it off lol it will hurt worse : )

 

I dropped a guard rail on toe (we were moving it for a grind) and the toe nail eventually fell off and it has been 2 years and its not fully grown back yet.
