RE: subaru origin?
subaru originated in japan, and made their name in bringing ugly little AWD vehicles to america back in the 60s and 70s.
GM had bought into the company at one point, but then split.
toyota saw a good thing and bought into the company afterward, if i remember correctly.
my wrx was the most reliable vehicle i ever owned. period.
i've owned 6 different hondas in the last 7 years, and none of them compared to the reliability of the WRX.
it wasn't fancy as far as materials or build quality or design, but it didn't have any nagging quality control issues like all of my previous hondas did.
i'd probably buy another subaru before i bought another honda, but their recent designs have taken an ungainly turn.
thanks zapatinas...

RE: subaru origin?
i like the way evo looks and perform, but i'd NEVER buy a mitsubishi. period.
they're quality control has sucked so bad, that they're former CEO was charged with covering up national recall-able offenses in japan. I think he's since gone to jail. jeezis.
they're american quality control ain't much better, and their dealer service is comparible to VWs: HORRIBLE.
their interiors are downright horrible too. $30,000 and you get the interior quality and feel of a mitsubishi colt...
but, hey, you don't buy EVOs for interior looks.

RE: subaru origin?
I thought that Subaru was European for a while but then i looked it up on a scan tool and discovered it was Japanese. You don't usually think Subaru when you think Japan and thats why i thought it was European. BTW, i didn't submit an answer in the poll.
