i think some people thought subarus were australian because of their "Outback" model campaign with the crocodile dundee actor.
just goes to show you how effective marketing can be.
in fact, those ads basically brought subaru into the mainstream. up until then, subarus were always considered fringe or cult cars because of their ungainly looks and AWD.
someone came up with the bright idea to market the cars as "outback-capable" to capitalize on their AWD setup.
It worked, because subaru, more than anyother carmaker, is associated with all-weather vehicles.

Alright who else voted for Nissan....... lol
and i like the new subaru commercial, the one where they go on about how they believe making a car without a windshield, steering, brakes, or an engine is a dumb as making a car without smetrical AWD lol
