Default textbooks are for idiots :(

I swear these people are trying to take as much money as they possibly can from college students before we need a bailout

I just looked at my textbook list, and for 5 classes, the cost of the books came to ....

$965.00 plus tax......... wtf?

and that is for all used textbooks..

$1286.00 plus tax for new books...

one semester. nuff said. that could easily pay for a semester's tution at a local tech school. ebay, here i come

^lol, no thanks... I'm not that worried, I have my ways of getting around text books, i just thought that was ridiculous for one semester. Just think, with those prices, the avg student goes anywhere from 8-10 semesters, so ~$9,000 for books for a simple education? i don't think so.

+1 on books being ridiculously priced and then when you go to sell them back you get like 4 dollars for a 100 dollar book like wtf is up w/ that? then they turn around and sell it for 75 or something. Fuсking gay if you ask me.

I buy my textbooks on http://www.abebooks.com/ or halfpricebooks.com, I have only had one textbook that i couldnt find there out of 4 semesters. Almost all the books i needed were less than 50. Afterwards, I sell them as used on amazon.com where prices are much higher. last semester i made 200 profit on them.

yes, i know about half.com and amazon, i just thought i'd check the uni bookstore for their prices, i just wish they would go bankrupt b/c i know funds wouldn't allow for a bailout for them.

man i think you just have some expensive books this semester. the most i have ever paid in a single semester is about 600. and thats mostly science and math books at the school's book store.

I'm in engineering, most of my books usually go for around over $500 a semester with some of them being used. One of the books is $273.00 new. what a joke...they better have printed the text in gold flake with a collection of dvds that does the learning for me.

I used to go to a private highschool so we had to buy all our books each semester/year. Anyways the worst part is you would buy like a $100 book and then not even use it the whole year cause the teacher thought it sucked....I'm just like wtf are you serious??????!?!?!??!?!!?!??!!??!?! And the school has a website that you can buy the books off of and they jack the prices up by 2x. So i have just resorted to ebay and amazon.
