I ordered some LEDs from SuperbrightLEDs.com and had them shipped USPS. I had them shipped to my work, because I knew someone would be at that desk to receive mail all day. I checked the shipping info on Friday and it said they tried to deliver it and left a notice on Thursday at 11:54 AM. I go to the post office in a very pissed off mood, they bounce me around to two more post offices that "might have it, but I'm not sure." So I get to the third one, it's hot as hell outside, I have no AC, I'm sweaty, and pissed. The guy tells me I'm in the right place and that the driver did try to deliver it. I call up the security officer at my office, have him pull the security tapes for that time frame, and sure enough, noone ever showed up to deliver anything. With his bull**** called, he decides to go look for it, and about 20 minutes later, he returns saying that he doesn't know where my package is. If you're going to lose my ****, at least just be honest about it so I can go order some more. I guess what should I really expect from the same government that runs the DMV?
</rant>
-oh, and I hate the DMV, too.
The USPS is actually privatized...

So FAIL at a low blow to the US government.

If it stays lost - you should be able to do something to that driver. Driver claimed to have HAD product. Driver claimed to have been at your job with product. Product now lost, and he never showed up at your job.

You'd think so. However, now the driver is claiming that she never had the package. Oh well. Learned my lesson: use UPS from now on.

My dad owns a business and sends 1000+ packages a week, all by USPS. They lose about 1 a month. You might want to rethink your decision to no longer use the USPS, because it is simply an emotional decision. UPS loses way more stuff.

-When your hard-drive crashes. No viruses, no trojans, no spyware. It just crashes one day.

-When you lose every f**king file and program you have because you have to return your computer to factory-shipped condition to fix the ish.

-When you have to re-download every program you had that didn't come on your computer and accept the loss of every document you had.

-When you realize you had literally hundreds of pictures saved on your hard drive with no backups. And no way to get the pictures back.

(I'm getting a f**king external hard drive as soon as I get the money)

Oh. And any "mac > pc" comments will be edited to say "I'm a smug, arrogant douche bag". And I'm not joking about that either. Sh*t's not funny.

Been there when I had my old computer. Turned it on one day and it just wouldn't start. Lost all my music.

But yea, get that external drive and a backup manager and set it to backup automatically. I have an external drive hooked up to the router and every PC in the house is set up for network backup.

Ha-UPS. Do you REALLY want to ship UPS?
I use to work at the local UPS. They made a game out of throwing ****t as hard as you could. The supervisors actually told you to throw the boxes, its quicker. And you HAD to force crap to fit. Didn't matter what happened to the box, as long as it fit.

Yeah... it didn't straight-up die, but close enough. Started running like complete s**t thursday; slower than ***** dipped in molasses in the arctic and kept freezing. Ran a virus scan; nothing. Spyware scan, same thing. Defragged the drives and it didn't help. I ended up having to pretty much re-load the OS. As soon as I get financially situated here in KY I'm getting an external hard drive and making backups of everything... I'd hate to lose a few gigs of pictures and documents again. I'll put it like this... I was less upset with my worst breakup than I am with losing my files lol

- When UPS breaks **** and then refuses to process a $160 insurance claim.
I shipped my s2k cluster through them insured up to $160, and it arrived broken in Florida! The guy refused shipment, and UPS denied my claim because I supposedly packed it incorrectly. It's funny, because I remember talking to the guy in the store (Jerry) when I shipped it on 5/13, I told him how it was packed and he said "perfect". F&%K UPS

- When the BBB doesn't read what you're trying to complain about.
Filed this issue with them. Went through the entire story etc etc. They forwarded it to UPS and the UPS store responded "We train our employees to understand packing materials and standards. We told Mr. Muschamp (me) that the packing supplies he used were not up to standards". Yea, ok... I went in there with a fragile electronic item [that I paid for extra insurance on], the guy said it was packed incorrectly, and I said "Go ahead and ship it anyways"....sure. The BBB accepted that as a response.

I'll never ship anything through UPS ever again.
/rant

- When people think UPS is better than USPS... lol

Lol you guys have some ****ty UPS up there or something. I ship servers, monitors, computers, and computer parts in all colors of the rainbow via UPS every day, and have never had them come in battered up. Here in Albuquerque, if you want to get something destroyed, DHL is the way to go.
