Do your research and pick the one that best suits you. Just so you know, if you want something faster right out of the box, go for the Civic. I raced a Corolla S with the D17 in the car. From a roll and from a dig, I put at least 4 car lengths on it everytime.

Sacicons is totally right. The 2ZZ doesnt have much aftermarket support and doesnt take too kindly to mods, but it will put some car lenghts on you stock... its no chump. If engine swaps are what you are into then the Corolla is not the car for you. As for putting 4 cars on a Corolla S with a D17... um... nevermind, just color.

if you dont plan on modding it too much, look into the 2ZZ powered Corolla XRS. that looks pretty sweet. but i doubt it will be any more supported by the aftermarket than the Celica GT-S.

 

very true, but there are plenty of GT-S's out there running hi 12's with a fuel controller and a few bolt ons (the Celica is discontinued now also)

 

Go for the Civic, it's nicer looking, and there will be more mods available for it in a while.

 

well im not a tuner so if i mod my car it will be very mild since its gonna be my daily driver not a racer the corrolla has 130hpstock 1.8lthe civic only has 115hp stock plus toyota kicks civics butt in stock stereo systems if i dont like the system thats in it i can get a jbl system from toyota
