CHECKBOOK!!!!! If he has that much money in his account to where he can write a check. Take a money order. be on the safe sie. don't let him nail you Bunny. ok. be safe.

 

Exactly... I would ask him if you could call his bank real quick and verify the check before handing over the title... Or ask for a money order, personal checks are a no-go because once you sign him over that title it's his... watch your hind end... however it also seems strange to me that he is coming back over with a checkbook... on a saturday.... it may all be legit but the fact is if he could have just written a check and wanted the car then why did he come over and say yeah okay... oops I forgot my checkbook I'll come back first thing tommorrow (when the banks are usually closed I might add...) and give you a personal check.... You're probably fine but play it safe...

 

some banks are open til 2 on saturdays. if anything go with him to the bank and have him just pull out the 6k and give it to you, never trust a check, or a money order for that matter. people can still screw you over with a money order. cash all the way.

yeah i would be a little sketchy about taking a cheque on a weekend too... i would prefer cash, cause if he has it in there he chould be able to take it out.

 

He talked you down on an offered price, strange. But hey that is still more than you initially wanted isn't it. Glad it worked out for you but like everyone else said becareful with a check. There are a lot of people out there that will scam you if you ain't careful.

 

yeah. i kinda expected that would happen. especially since it is my first car. i didnt have it for more than a year and a half or so.

i kinda figured the checkbook would be sketchy. im gunna call him at like 11 to ask if he could just pay in cash.

 

cashier's check or bank check should be fine, he can get one at his bank for a small fee. That will be safer for YOU as well. Do you really want to sit on 6 grand cash for the entire weekend?

ok well hes not picking it up today. but he said hed give me 500 in cash and the rest in a bank check. sweet deal. i guess hes picking it up on monday.
