i know more about law then most dad is a lawyer so yea i do k thx
and instead of bitching about it on a car forum perhaps you would be better off filing a petition for getting it in the process of being changed....but nobody will sign it.....but im sure if its your first offence you automatically going to jail cause that would just be impractical

lol @ the kids in this thread.
Theres no reason to go that far over the speed limit. In Michigan, 25mph over is Wreckless Driving, and results in jail time, suspension of license and a fine. Not as extreme as Florida's new punishment, but oh well.
If you really feel the NEED FOR SPEED! Go to a track for a lapping day and get it outta your system.
The arguement "drunk driving has a lesser penatly" isn't really valid either. You can't change every law's penalty all at once, I'm sure Florida is just making their way through the list. Just because its not as bad as another offense, doesn't make it right, does it?
No, I dont care if the road is "wide open," laws are still in affect for a reason. Keep in mind, this law isn't treading on you, its there for your protection, like it or not.
Use your head on public roads, don't BREAK THE LAW, and everyone will live happily ever after.
