Default VTEC V-6 ?

I have this friend that goes on and on about how bad a$$ the accord v6 6speed vtecs are. I haven't been around one but are they all he makes them out to be. One of my friends has a 2002 ford lightning and the other friend swears that the accord will walk all over him. We play poker alot and anytime cars are being talked about he brings up this accord. So tell me what you guys think and could someone post a pic of one of these accord so if I see one in the streets I can try to race it and really see what its got.

Those accords have like 255HP and they are in the 3k lbs range. I think that the lightining will have a pretty good chance of beating him. The lightning has a V8, lots more torque and horsepower. If you consider the price and power of an accord V6, its really not that impressive.

I know the latest gen AV6's run in the area of 14.5's with bolt-ons but other than a comptech supercharger I think the aftermarket support just aint there for them. As far as the Lightining goes I am not even going to justify that with a answer, your talking about a 380+hp and 380+tq truck that runs low to mid 13's stock.

BTW I could see it running with not faster than a lil older lightining that is not supercharged or a ragged out lightining

I just looked it up on Yahoo Autos.
The AV6 has a 3.0L V6 making 244HP and 211 Ft Lbs of torque. It weighs around 3300lbs. The invoice prices is $24,000-$26,000 and the MSRP is $27,000-$29,000. If you compare the AV6 to other cars in its price range it really isn't impressive. For that price, you could get a 350Z, S2000, STi, EVO VIII, or a Mustang, Those are only the cars that immediatly come to mind. It really isn't that fast, a friend of mine has one and i would never even consider buying one.

Those cars are not in competition with the AV6 though, totally different market segments
