OK so i have just finished watching this movie, the thing i dont get is the ending. I mean what the hell ?? At the end it says they were doomed before they started . . . . Someone please explain this movie to me

I just watched this too and I dont get it either. I also assumed it was some type of virus but what virus? And how did they get it? I just understand.
My girl hated it because the people kept doing the things your never suppose to do, like stay quiet when you need to or run the wrong way, lol.

The aliens were breathing the air on earth and there is bacteria and viruses in the air so they caught the bacteria and viruses and the microbes killed them. The aliens probably didn't have the immune system that the organisms on earth have to fight the bacteria so the aliens couldn't fight the disease.

i liked that movie. the aliens died, as said before, because they dont have our immune system. after thousands of years of evolution humans can survive with all the bacteria on earth. and when the aliens start drinking our blood they get the stuff that we dont even know we have

IF YOU HAD READ THE BOOK you'd know that the aliens evolution didn't create an immune system for them because of conditions on Mars. When they came to Earth the microbes immediately started in on them. That movie sucked, outright. The only thing remotely close to resembling the book was how the tripods looked. Everything else was garbage. Especially how the aliena looked. I'll cry when a true to the book movie comes out. If you haven't read Wells' original, then I suggest getting on top of that. It's a quick read and my, will you be amazed.
