Way OT--asking a guy out
I say go for it!! And good luck! If you like the guy, and he seems like a good guy, theres nothin wrong with it. Two years ago, I met my bf. He had never had a relationship. I kept trying to do subtle things, and he just didnt get it. I remember like a year ago he told me, he would start to hope that I liked him, from my hints, and then think he must have been overthinking the little things I would do.. and not think that they actually meant anything. Finally I called him one night, and just told him I liked him. I had never done that before, never asked a guy out, and first he didnt know what to say. Were still together, and he says he is glad I made the first move, because he might never had been brave enough to do it.
Sorry to drag this up again, but I have another question. He seems to be avoiding me, whether it be intentional or not. I never was able to strike up a conversation with him this evening, as he was talking to everyone in the room but me, and was never in a position where I could go over and start the conversation. His brother and cousin and I were chatting it up, and I'm thinking "where is he?".
So basically, I know people will avoid other people for various reasons, good and bad. My girlfriends suspect that he's intimidated or he likes me and just doesn't know how to deal with it. Or he's oblivious or he hates my guts [&:] He's always really cool and collected when he HAS to talk to me, so I don't know what the deal is.
I'm calling him tomorrow regarding the theater thingy. In the meantime, is there a way to tell what kind of avoiding me he's doing? Ugh, you boys just drive us girls crazy!

haha this place has become dating advices forum. anyway how about go see a scary movie and pretend to get scared and grab his shoulder or grab his arm and see how he reacts when you did it and at the end of the movie. AFter you tell him that you were sorry that you grab his shoulder or grab his arm. If he gives you a good vibe then you ca tell him that was very comforting or thank you and very sweet of you.
Yeah i agree with all the guys statements about double dating its not an ideal place to get to know a person. Good luck.
If he is around guys then most likely he just avoiding you because he embrass to talk to you or just occuppied with his boys.

I think he needs some time to air out find himself again.Firuge out what he likes to do and stuff like that, cause people getting out of a relationship they have changed to suit the other person.I would stay friends.Dont think so much just wing it if it works it works
if not his loss right. The girl asking you out part is going to make him cocky and boost his selfesteem so watch for cheating or loseing the fish.

Okay guys, I called a little bit ago and left a message. A very carefully rehearsed message with all the appropriate pauses and "ums".
Thank you all for your advice and support. I've been kind of down this morning over the whole thing (sometimes girls assume the worst) and my mom told me to just suck it up and call him. Worst thing that'll happen is he'll say no, and I'll just have to deal with it.
Now I'm going to be on pins and needles hoping he'll call me back.
