Default Weird Problem

Today I go to start my car........Running ROUGH! Its like sputtering down the road....then just dies. I try to start it and NOTHING. I pull it over, pop the hood, everthing looked good, nothing major. Then I get back in the car, pump the gas petal, and it starts up fine, runs normal? Any ideas? Air in gas line? Bad fuel? Ive got no clue.

I had a problem similar to that in my dads blazer. It turned out that the fuel pump was starting to die. For some reason i had to let it sit for half an hour then it would start up right away.

Sounds like the engine coil. When mine went out I could have sworn from the symptoms (sputtering etc.) it revolved around the fuel system, but come to find out it was the coil. Best of luck getting it fixed.

I don't think Civics have coils. They use a distributor and regular wires.

BTW, your problem sounds lie a furl delivery problem. Since you have FI, I take it that you are using an adjustable fuel regulator. Maybe it's out of whack? What is your F/A gauge showing (i assume you have one)?

Sounds to me like it is the fuel pump.I normal would put a fuel pressure tester on it and start the car and let it idle till it does it.Or you can wait till it just dont start.

the way to tell if a fuel pump is going bad is to listen to it while its running, it will get really loud and them adventualy just give out... Try a fuel pressure test they are very simple!
