Default Windows 7 Anyone?

i'm not sure how many of you want windows 7 but if you are a student with schools email address ending in .edu , you can get the full retail version with upgrade and clean install option (i believe, since i've just downloaded and haven't install yet) of Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional for $29.99 by calling the Microsoft Store. After you order they send you an email with order invoice and product key and link to download the 32 bit or 64 bit versions in exe or iso format.

anyone interested? what do you guys think about windows 7?

/\EXTREMELY cautiously optimistic about it. Vista almost turned me Mac. Keyword: almost. Glad to hear rockin reviews so far though.

EDIT: And god damn it ADMINS, when did we start deleting avatars around here!?

i've just got done installing windows 7 professional. and man what a huge difference from vista. faster booting and shut down time, faster overall. at least for me. the graphics is more crisp and clean. i'm loving it, best $30 investment i've made.

anyone still wanting it call microsoft and get it for $29.99 home premium or professional. full retail version custom install and upgrade options.

linux is better.

Try ubuntu linux comes with everything you need and more. Open source and free of charge.

http://www.ubuntu.com/

no viruses and don't have to pay more money to get the applications you need.

you also have the source code to the software so one company cannot tell you what to do with your computer.

Enjoy!

Good luck gaming, or doing anything more or less serious in Open Office. Sure, it'll work for 99% of people's daily needs, but I enjoy having dual boot Fedora 11 AND Win7.

Not sure what you mean but I use open office in a windows shop and have zero problems.
I don't do much gaming but there are plenty of games on linux that my daughter and I enjoy.

I don't get why people think everything has to conform to microsoft. you are the customer and microsoft is suppose to please the customer. microsoft has brainwashed the world thinking we have to do what they say and they don't have to do what we want.

that is why businesses are switching to open source. it tailors to their needs and not to one companies needs. there are tons of apps for linux and it does a lot more that only windows could dream about all for close to nothing.
