i like linux if im building my own custom operating system type deal but i would rather rock windows, free (ask me how ), easy to use and i can still customize it.

Vista and 7, yes. XP, sort of. Microsoft has steadily been making crappier OS' since XP came out.

I'd still rather deal with windows than be that guy (linux user) or have to trick my computer into doing what I want it to do (mac user). And the mac user having to trick his computer into doing what he wants it to do? Yeah, it's a fact. My roommate has a mac. It generally does what it wants, not what he wants it to do.

Yes, I have problems with my laptop running Vista... but I've more or less chalked it up to my computer being so awesome that it's actually become sentient, and it's just a sadistic a**hole.

 

I don't have to trick my Mac to do what I want. Maybe your friend just has trouble with computers in general? Or he doesn't know how to use his Mac properly



About Windows 7... i'd like to see what it's like. Maybe my dad will buy Windows 7 for his work computers and i'll set it up for him. He probably won't though, it's a waste of money unless you're a student. The IT guy in the office next door showed me his developer's copy of Windows 7 before it was released, and he told me it sucked compared to XP. I'd still like to test it out though.

 

lmao you can customize windows. you can change the whole interface if you get into the coding... just because there isnt a shortcut to customize it (right click > propeties kinda thing) it dosent mean u cant do anything..

 

Could we be a little more condescending please? Don't automatically assume someone's stupid. He's had his macbook for almost 3 years and I'm pretty sure he knows how to use it by now.

My point was macs aren't borderline perfect like the majority of mac users would have you believe. They freeze and crash (not as often as windows, but I've witnessed them do it. I almost sh*t myself laughing when it happened, too.), and they're no easier to use than a PC.

 

Didn't say he was stupid... just brought up the possibility that maybe your friend just isn't good with computers. Some people just aren't good with computers, doesn't make them stupid. If you read my last post with a condescending tone, that was all in your head.
