I don't know where to start...it is strange hearing all of your comments and thinking of similar situations I catch myself in:

when I am standing around talking, I pull out my change and line it all up.....the quarters all have to be facing the same direction. Quarters are the only thing I carry...everything else goes in the change box every night.....only quarters are real money!

I cannot sleep in the bedroom with the closet door open. It must be closed....completely!

The Air Conditioner vents in my vehicles all have to be centered.....if someone rides with me and messes with the one on the passenger side, it drives me nuts until I get it fixed back the way it should be. My wife and kids learned to just leave them alone.

I sort all of my files on the computer...typically I have an unusually deep directory structure...especially for pictures...all sorted by date. I took some pictures at a jobsite recently and here is how they are stored: C:\Projects\Site\2005\05-307\Photographs\12-14-05\

I have to dry my hair in the morning before I brush my teeth.

I could go on!

 

OH!!! I just thought of an obvious one that I do. Unconsciously...I face all my DVD's and CD's in my movie case with their titles horizontal, you know, straight across. I hate it when people just shove a CD back in without straghtening it. A friend of mine actually just caught me doing it to hers last night........I was looking through her movies, and every time I turned the page, I would straighten them as I looked at them.

 

I'm with ya on that one. Never really thought about it till you just said it tho

 

I can't stand it when bolts have rust of them. I have been known to wire wheel a bolt to shine it up even though there maybe nothing mechanically wrong with it.

 

I do that with DVDs and CDs too. But do you have a nervous breakdown when the CD doesn't have an "up"?

I also hang all my clothes with the front facing the left. I keep my email inboxes empty--if I need to remember something I'll email myself a note and leave it there. It drives me so batty that I can't forget. I also clear out the microwave timer if I stop it early. Seeing it sitting there with time left and asking "Start?" drives me crazy. I've also become somewhat of a neat freak--all my important papers are carefully filed into their respective 3 ring binders, my desk is clean, and I can't stand it when someone has left a mess in my room or car (you should see the mess my brother can make in my car on a 5 minute trip).

I also have a problem with sitting up normally. I'm either slouching, sitting on my knees, got one foot curled underneath me, or some other strange arrangement of limbs. It's more comfortable that way

 

I do something similar to that, all my VHS and DVD's have to be facing the same direction, i hate when your looking at them and you have your head tilted to the left to read them and have to continually look to the right to read the name ( goes for books too)

 

I think my biggest one is the sheets on the bed cannot be bunched up, if one side has more sheets than the other I fix it.
My money all has to face the same direction and be right side up.
DVD must be in alphabetical order(supposing there is enough room on the shelf for them).
All my computer geek books are arranged by genre, i.e. HTML,Java,Javascript,XML,CSS are all together.
Thats about what I can think of for now.

 

I never noticed it until my coworkers pointed it out... but my desk can look like a bomb went off on it but if my stapler, pens, water and post-its aren't in a specific place i freak out. They have moved them around as like a joke several times and the first thing i do is put them in their propler place and they have to line up perfectly. Does't really make sense to me but I'm that way about weird things around the house and office .... everything can be a total disaster... but certain things have a place.

 

the bed sheets cannot be tucked in... so god help me if they are.....

and i can relate to you fran, my computer desk looks like a disaster but i know exactly where certain things should be and if they are not, i put them there

 

I shake my right leg, all the time. Its annoying in class cause my shoes squeek, kids get mad at me.
