Unhappy ** Smog Check Fail ** Help!!!

Ok guys, as most of you people know I own a 2000 Civic Si with a B16. My car has always passed the emission test from California, yeah I know there though. The following parts are listed below (please note these mods where already installed on my previous Smog Check and it passed with ease)

AEM Intake
AEM under drive pulley kit
AEM adjustable cams
AEM fuel filter
DC Sports header

Everything is CARB legal. What baffles me it passed the 25 MPH Test but it fails the 15 MPH, WTF!!!

These are the results for 15 & 25

RPM %CO2 %O2 HC (PPM) CO% NO (PPM)
Test meas meas meas max ave meas max ave meas max ave meas

15 mph 2279 14.8 0.5 66 9 129 0.57 0.02 0.42 487 57 1397

25 mph 2484 15.0 0.2 49 7 48 0.55 0.03 0.12 774 50 319

I’m planning on doing a complete tune up, oil, wires, plugs, distributor cap and rotor, sea foam and add an addictive to the fuel tank.

Anything else knows why I got such a messed up reading for the 15 test?

Hopefully the tune up will help....
But I've been thinking what if my EGR valve has gone bad. Does anybody knows how I could perform a test if it's still working properly....

It's almost certain for the EGR passages to get clogged up. You'll need to take off the fuel rail (with injectors still attached) and then remove the EGR valve and the plate on top of the intake manifold to clean them. To test an EGR system, force the valve fully open at idle. The engine should slow down or even stall.

If I understand the numbers you also have high HC (failing at 15 and passing by only 2 points at 25) and elevated CO as well. All 3 pollutants high usually is because the cat converter is worn out. But first clean out the EGR and retest.

I was just gonna ask about the EGR... Here's a YouTube link for what I believe is an early 90's Accord getting the EGR cleaned out. I saw this a while back after my car had already failed, then passed smog. I didn't have this done; however, I may do this soon. It looks like it's pretty easy to do, but time consuming.

If you're wondering... This might help too. My buddy did a "test for the test"... and said it won't pass, so he hooked up an "IV" looking cleaner to my intake manifold, bypassing the fuel line so that it goes directly to the injectors. He started her up and held the revs at around 1.5k-2k (Not certain) with a throttle lock. Once all the treatment was through, I took the car and drove it around town to try and blow all that crap out. Took the car back, retarded the timing all the way, smogged it... it passed. I think he did this for 70 bucks. (This was June 2010). It was either this or buy a new Cat Converter.

Hope this helps
