Default check engine light speedo/trip fail

The speedometer and miles just stoped working and the check engine light came on as well. The gas gauge and temp gauge work. Its a 1998 civic dx

Recently changed oil rotate tires and broke off a lug nut but didn't think that would be reason why.

Sounds like a fuse 15 problem. The wires behind the engine (where they go over the intake manifold bracket) get frayed and short out. This blows fuse #15 under the dash, cutting power to several sensors including the speed sensor.

Got a link or thread on how to fix? Just replace fuse or are the wires shot?

Now the radio stoped and then I shut off my car and it wouldn't start unless I jumped it. Battery didn't show full charge, could it still be fuse 15 or maybe alternator. Odometer and speedometers still don't work and check engine is on.

Yes if you have fuse 15 problem, the alternator won't charge very well either. The wires go across the back of the engine and power up the alternator.

I looked in fuse box there are like five 15 amp fuses. Pulled a few none looked blown. Where is the 15 amp fuse I'm supposed to change?

It's actually fuse number 15. When you pop the fuse box cover off, there should be a little transparency thing with a listing of all the fuses and what they go to.

But the real issue is with the ENGINE BAY WIRING HARNESS BEHIND THE ENGINE.

Y fuse box has a diagram that names what each fuse is, but none say fuse # 15

ok check it out you are not looking in the right place at all and if you were looking at the table this thing

you would see that one said alternater and sp senor and then count how many over it is and then you will look here

so this is what you need to look at. you can see under the 10amp fuse there is a number 15. now the right size fuse that needs to be there is 7.5 I did not have one so i used this for now. hope this helps
