Default ~i dont know if this has been posed before~

I have a 94 Civic EX 1.6L and i have put cold air intake, high flow cat, and ceramic headers. when i got the car i did not know that the water pump had gone. on my way to work i heard i went bad noise so i pulled over and by that time it was to late my engine over heated and fried (thats what the plaze i went to said) so anyways i got a junkyard motor in it and when i got it back the troddle was sticky it would stick shut.... well with me it has to be perfect... so i took the throttle plate off and sanded it down little by little untill it didnt stick... then about a year ago i crashed the car the left rear is smashed in. then when i got it back i noticed when im at idle it reves back and forth (lets say 800 rpm to 2000 rpm) so i took it to my mechanic and he told me oh we fixed it we just put a peice of rubber blocking the iac, and lowered the rpm.. i was like thanks a week later it came back so i said screw it im taking the peice of rubber off and ill put a real gasket on there. i did that nothing changed. then about a week after that i went to pull out of my drive way and when i got into the street is just died. well after some looking around and having my dad say its the distributor and getting me one i found out a wire came out of a connector for the distributor. it kept reving back and forth so i asked one of the guys at advance auto parts about it and he daid get a vtech silinoid (spelling probibly wrong) i did, it didnt help. so 6 months later and still driving with it i finaly got fed up with it and i had my friend get a new ecu from a 94 civic that was in the junkyard. that didnt help, i got a new o2 sensor, that didnt help.. and i checked the voltage for the iac with the engine not running and it was 10 volts... and in my repair manual it said it should be 12 volts. my neibor who is a shop teacher was helping me figure out what is wrong and he came up with 2 things it could be #1 i sanded the throttle plate to much and its leaking to much air in ( when i let off the gas and its in gear i get 20 on my boot gauge it used to be 22 ish b4 this happened) or #2 something is telling the iac to do funky stuff...

if anyone has any suggestions please let me know, im sry about it being long i just didnt want to leave out any helpfull info..

Try cleaning the IACV with carburetor fluid:

Also bleed the cooling system to eliminate any possible air bubbles (start at step 8):

If still the problem persists, then troubleshoot the FIV:

Yes, same thing -- just my typing error.

That's great. Do a Google search -- I am pretty sure you may be able to fix the problem by cleaning the FIV, which should be attempted prior to a more expensive replacement.
