hmmm you need to check your TB for carbon buildup and TPS if it is faulty

I just sent one of my minions for some carb/choke cleaner.

So we should see if a few.

If they were fouled that would explain the full time hesitation but not the cold start bucking and sputtering.
New plugs can get fouled/burned if there are other problems. Pretty easy to pull out and inspect. Also use a timing gun to check whether the ignition timing is set to spec.

yanked the IAC, it was plugged up solid. The toothbrush, carb/choke cleaner and I spent some quality time with it and then I put it back on.

It made no difference, I will try new plugs just for giggles.

I really need to borrow a timing light and check that. Do you have to pull the lower bonnet off to time it or can you see the mark from the top?

If your IACV was clogged up solid, the ports in the manifold that it attaches to will be the same way too. Did you clean them?

Timing is done from the top. There is a plastic pointer on the lower timing cover. You need to jumper the test connector at the ECU to get a proper reading.

Is the CEL ON?

After cleaning the IACV, could the IACV window that regulates air flow move freely? If the IACV was plugged, then the PCV valve is probably the same. Consider replacing the PCV valve and cleaning the PCV and breather hoses.

replaced the PCvalve last year when I did my annual maintenance festival.

The CEL/MIL has not come on, no DTC's. I pray for them everytime I start the car though so I can figure this out.

Let me see if I can better detail the issue-

I get in the car, it starts fine- it idles fine. (cold)
I take off, it starts out smooth.
as soon as I get to a certain point in accelerating, it falls on its face.
I push in the clutch and rev it up and it fires smooth.
I release the clutch and try to speed up and it falls on its face.
If I leave the clutch out and just hold the pedal to the floor it bucks a bit, and then suddenly it takes off and squeals tires and such and its fine.

If I shut the car off for more than one minute I have to go through it all again. regardless of vehicle temp.

Once it gets over this hump, it runs fine. (other than that slight hesitation, which has always been there since I owned the car- and yes I did buy new plugs today, putting them in tonight)

At first I thought it might be a dead spot in the TPS, but if it were you would think it would do it 100% of the time and not just on a pseudo cold start.

Then I thought maybe I had some evil pixies, but evil pixies would have probably just sliced the brake lines.

yeah I cleaned the ports too.

Test connector? is there an FAQ that has the step by step for timing check, because it sounds a little more involved than I had guessed.
