Default 02 civic won't start

I have a 2002 civic has only 65K miles and has never given me a problem until recently. As of two days ago the car will not start. Although the battery and starter are strong and engine turns over fine, the motor won't even try to start up. Plenty of fuel in tank and have already checked all fuses. Simple stuff has been checked off the list. From here any ideas as to what may be wrong? Does the civic of this model and year share any common problem? The specs are - 2002 Honda Civic ex with the 1.7L VTEC four cylinder eng. and has a strange looking non-factory device with the label--DAC (Direct Air Control) installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
