Default 02 sensor defouler issues

i disconnected the battery, bored out the 18mm spark plug defouler to 1/2 inch and put it in the port after the converter and put the o2 sensor into that. now the check engine light came on faster but with a different code saying that it had high voltage. does this mean that it isnt getting enough airflow now whereas before it was getting too much? and help thanks!!

Sorry, but I can't really understand what the original problem was and how you attempted to fix it.

Were you having problems with a secondary O2 sensor? What specific CEL codes were thrown?

What year Civic and engine?

the first time around my check engine light was tripped off saying that there was too much airflow detected by the 2nd o2 sensor so my engine was running in a limp mode. i tried using the defouler trick to see if the problem would be solved. i only used one defouler but i guess i was supposed to use 2 of them but regardless the one code went away but now i have three codes. one says 2nd sensor has high volts. one says EGR flow insufficient and the last says 2nd sensor circuit malfunction. hope this helps you help me!

You are throwing an EGR system code and two secondary O2 sensor codes. Which ones?

A bad secondary O2 sensor should not cause the ECU to go into limp mode. This sensor only serves to monitor cat function for emissions purposes. Troubleshoot the EGR code as it will likely lead you to the solution for your engine problem.
