Default 04 Hybrid problem

Hi all,

I have an '04 Civic Hybrid with the CVT and 74,000 miles. When I come to a complete stop, and step on the gas to get the car moving again, I feel a rumble/grinding noise from the passenger's side of the car, as though the passenger's side was over rumble strips or rough pavement. It varies in intensity with how hard I step on the accelerator. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks!

Grayson

Does the noise increase or change when you are turning corners? That would indicate a bad constant velocity joint. See if the boot on the passenger side CV is ripped, allowing dirt to enter.

No, it's the same regardless of whether or not I take off with the wheels turned or straight. The only thing that seems to affect the intensity is how hard I step on the gas. Also, I feel a distinct rumble (kind of like driving over gravel) in the passenger's side of the car which varies in the same way as the actual noise.
