Smile '06 Civic Electrical issue

  • Have an '06 Civic that developed a battery issue. The battery would slowly drain over the course of hours, and is fine if disconnected (not the battery). We isolated the drain to fuse/circuit 5 in the fuse box and pulled the fuse. No problem after that. According to the manual, circuit 5 is specific to heated seats and the car doesn't have them, It doesn't make sense to me you would make heated seats a live circuit with the car off. The battery would get dead pretty quick if you forgot to switch them off. From the schematics I can find, that leads back to an OP(tion?) fuse under the hood. Checked and that is hot all the time. First: Should that circuit be hot with the car off? Second: Because it doesn't have heated seats, where does the back half of the circuit lead that it is shorting and draining the battery? Third: Has anyone had an issue like this before and what did you do?
