I have a 89 crx with a d16y8 that cuts out pretty badly down low but smooths out in high rpm's it starts out when cold running fine but when it is driven a lot it starts cutting out it is almost like it is getting too much fuel any suggestions (fuel pressure or what??)

 

are u throwing up a CEL? Are u using the stock fuel pump? it might not be getting ENOUGH fuel.

 

Yes check engine light, don't know about fuel pump runs great in the upper rpm range just sucks down low cuts out badly.
