This may sound like a stupid question but just the same here it is...could a door that does not latch completely cause a battery to go dead even though their is nothing visiablity on when the key is not in the ignition? The door lock is definitely broken and I have an appointment to have it replaced. However, since it broke I 've had trouble starting the car particularly if I haven't started for a day or so. I was able to jump start it once last week but this morning it wouldn't even jump start. I did turn off the dome light after the door latch broke. Also, the day the lock broke was the same day I had a tune up done. (new plugs, wires, cap, etc.) because I was having trouble starting it when I would leave out in wet weather. So, I'm not sure if the current reason for it not starting is related to the porblem I was having before the tune up or to the broken door latch? I guess I should have the battery tested and the lock replaced to see if the problem goes away. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Does your seatbelt light blink. If so it could be the automatic tensioner "or whatever you call it" for your seatbelt inside of the door. I heard there is a fuse in there but I'm not really sure I just unpluged the door harness. The funny part is my started causing problems when I messed up my door latch.

Yes, the seatbelt light blinks and beeps continuously. It's been rather annoying to drive that way. So, I guess I should have that checked out when I have the door latch replaced later this week. I was able to eventually jump start it yesterday. I'm assuming if I start it and drive it often enough the battery won't have a chance to go dead as least until I take it in for the door. Thanks for the help.

if it's going to be awhile before you get it check out you can remove the door speaker and disconnect the door wiring harness, your speaker won't work but your battery won't go dead. the beeper is under the plastic cover where your rear view mirror is bolted up. your belt light will still blink.
