Default 1991 civic hatchback can't shift please help

Just bought this 1991 civic hatchback for a daily driver. It has a new clutch. My problem is when I start it and try and put it in gear it does not want to go into 1st. I have to forcefully put it in that gear which is not good for it I know! Trying to shift into 2nd is almost the same exact way. 3rd and 4th are not bad at all. I also try and put it in reverse it grinds really bad and if I don't stay a little bit on the gas it stahls out quickly. Now when the civic is keyed off engine not running I have all my gears like normal

Again this is a stock 1991 1.5l Honda civic hatchback 4th Gen all stock new clutch.
I need to know what I can do. I am thinking of replacing the clutch cable
