Unhappy 1992 Honda Civic DX engine knock

I have a cold air intake that was right near the passenger front wheel and it sucked up a good amount of water into the engine, lugging it down (the engine) a few times and killed it twice on a long drive home yesterday. Now I've got some blue smoke coming from the exhaust when I start it and a knock to the engine. Spark plug replacement did not affect the knocking. I'm thinking I might have bent a valve because it's a constant metallic knock that speeds up and slows down with the engine. I included a 1 minute audio segment which can be viewed on youtube.com at:

I would appreciate any advice on what you think is causing the knock and what it will take to repair. Thank you.

That... sounds un-pleasant.... honestly on that im not too sure what it is... it almost (too me at least) sounds a but fast for a valve... i have never encountered a valve issue yet though.... BUT as for the water intake... thats not so good, how much water are we talking here? and the blue smoke... well thats usually oil... so if you had ALOT of water inside the engine, you could have damaged your rings... but i dont know... just my two cents.

I sucked up a good amount of water- there was about 6 inches of slush and ice on the road and I had to drive on 30 miles of it. Twice it killed the engine there was so much water-the exhaust would blow out big plumes of white smoke. I did a compression test today and got readings of 130, 140, 220 and 185 on cylinders 1-4 respectively. Very out of whack.

Well folks- the verdict is in- after an engine strip-down it turns out it was a....
bent piston rod on the number 1 cylinder. Yea for me. the valves all looked fine and there wasn't much damage to the cylinder so besides the time, it won't be too too expensive. Thanks to all the opinions and help!

wow... so it seems to me, IF it WAS water... you didnt even hydro-lock your engine... you like... hydro-bent it XD thats not too bad! glad to hear its nothing overly serious!
