Default 1994 civic

put a used automatic trans in my daughters civic ... it shifts hard through the gears . kinda ..bump.. bump.. bump... maybe it has a after market hot rod torque converter .. i hope .. any other info would help ... it doesnt slip or anything else ...just bump

Did you use Honda fluid? The Honda automatics are tricky that way; using generic fluid tends to cause improper operation and short life. I don't even know if there is such a thing as a hot rod torque converter for those, anyone who is interested in performance would convert the car to manual (manual parts are easily swapped in, no welding, etc. needed).

thanks i will check into honda trans fluid .. i know other cars and trucks have heavy duty torque converters,, and thought maybe hondas .. is honda fluid expensive ???
