Default 1994 honda civic Si head gasket replacement help

Hey you guys!

I've got a 94 civic Si, stock engine and the head gasket is partially blown and I want to change it.

My question is can this be done with out having to take the engine out? And do you guys know of any websites that show you how to do it?

I've looked around in here but I haven't found much on the matter.

I've gotten quotes and autoshops want to charge like, 800 and up for doing it...

Thanks for your replies

Im in the process of replacing mine. Everything is off and waiting for the machine shop. You dont have to take the motor out. Intake manifold and exhaust manifold need to come out, upper and lower left mounts out, then all the belts, crank pulley-( need a special tool ) then timing belt off, then the head.. If you see any replies to posts from a guy called ron, you can down load the factory service manual for your car in his signature..

You dont have to remove the crank pulley, just loosen the tensioner and slide the belt off. I don't know what he means by upper and lower left mounts? But no motor mounts have to be removed. Just all the belts and sensors leading to the head, both manifolds, dizzy, timing belt, and small things like spark plugs and plug wires. Make sure you unbolt the head in the correct order.

+1 for everyone sticking around because normally when this happens there are posters who never post anymore.
