I might be buying a '96 Civic DX (might ben an EX, not completely sure) Hatchback with manual transmission (the only way to go), from my grandmother, and I've looked up stuff on them, the thing has 106hp. I'm basically a newbie to Civics but I've always wanted one, I've heard they're reliable, good deals, can be modified easily, and just generally good things.

I'm not completely sure I'll obtain this car but I'd really like to. She's been gentle with it and it has I think 38k miles. So a couple questions I guess, what do you guys think? Is that a decent Civic for me to get?

Also, where can I buy parts online for this specific model? And which parts should I get first to improve it? I know that filters and exhaust and such are typically the least expensive way to improve a Civic, but not which exact ones to get and if possible I'd like to spend not a ton of money upgrading it right now since I'm a poor college student, but it would be nice to go with a car that isn't completely stock.

PM sent. Exhaust wont make any difference at all on the car until you get it to take in alot more air. Intake and then header, then exhaust.... and you'll gain like 10hp total for about 1000 bucks... HAHAHA
