Did this problem exist before replacing the battery? Did you just replace the battery hoping it would fix it, or was there some other problem with the battery?

Since the starter turned, your connections are good. If it did work before replacing the battery, it is probably the anti-theft system (if equipped) or some other "software problem." You could try disconnecting the (-) lead of the battery again for a while to reset the various computers. Also consult the manual or a dealer about the anti-theft system.

Also you could try jumping the starter with the key on now and see if it will start. If the anti-theft system is active, it probably won't. If it is a switch or relay problem, it should. You really really should have an assistant in the driver's seat to shut it down if there is a problem.

I agree with mk378. If your light are flahing then it might have something to do with your alarm. Do you have an after market alarm? You can unplug the brain of the system and it might start. Thats what i had to do.
