Default 1999 CIVIC hood release pull lever broken

The hood release pull lever is broken on my parents 1999 Honda civic.
Does the plastic just screw off? and a new one can be screwed on, or is there a more complicated way to repair this problem?

i think u have to buy the whole wire from the hood latch to the dash, but just go to a junkyard and see, either way it wont be hard to do urself.

You need to find out where it is broken first. Is it the actual plastic handle thing that is broken? Or does the hood not pop when you pull on it? If that's the case, then you need to find where the cable came unlatched, either from the latch itself, or the handle end. Once you find where it came off, just reattach it. I'm not sure how to pop the hood without it working though. Maybe someone else can help you there.

you have to jack the car up and get like a rod or crow bar and pop it that way
