Default 1st gear and 2nd gear grind?

So my 5spd 95 Civic EX (coupe) has a grind like noise when i hit about 2800-3300RPMs on 1st and 2nd gear. You could kind of hear it on 3rd gear but its really noticeable on 1st and 2nd.

Sometimes in the cold morning or when I just barely started the car and start running it (without warming it up), the "grind" wont be there.
But most of the time you can hear it. However, I dont hear a grind when switching gears. Only happens from about 2800 RPMS to 3300 RPMs. Sometimes it varries.

Bad tranny?

Does the noise go away if you press the clutch pedal down? If so, the input shaft bearing in the transmission may be shot.

Check the fluid level first. Noise that occurs idling in neutral is usually one of the two main input shaft bearings. Those are easy to replace without rebuilding the entire unit. They seem to be the first (or only?) thing to wear out in those transmissions, unless abused by running without fluid or harsh driving.
