Default 2 Problems... (starting and suspension related)

Hello everyone, I have 2 questions to ask. I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX (coupe) with 141K miles on it and as of lately I have been having trouble starting my car. I also had this problem last year. Basically when I turn the key nothing appears to turn over...it is essentially silent. But if I wait about 5 mins or so it starts right up. It only seems to happen in the summer time also. Last summer when I had the problem I had switched the starter relays around with the horn relay i believe since they were the same size and I didn't have any problems starting until about a couple weeks ago. Could someone tell me some possible sources of the problem or ways I can find out what exactly it is?

My next question has to do with my front suspension. When I go over a bumpy road at a relatively slow speed (20 mph or so) i seem to almost have a knocking sound in my suspension, particularly on my passenger side. I am assuming my control arm bushings need to be replaced? I was going to try out the Energy Suspension bushings. What are peoples opinions on the Energy Suspension bushings and could someone confirm that for the symptoms I described if it would be the bushings that are possibly bad?

Thanks for the help!

energy suspension is good stuff, the best way to find out is to get under it and check the bushings for rips and tears, you may just have blown shocks . but you need to take a look first.

for the starting when you turn the key on does the dash lights come on? if not then you may have some bad + - connections on the battery or a bad ground, if you have corrosion pour some coke cola on the terminals and it will clean them right up.

Ok its been a while since I've checked this thread.

For the starting, I figured out what my problem was. It actually had to do with my floor mat getting pushed up under the clutch. Because when I figured this out, i had moved my floor mat back some and then it started right up.

Now in regards to the suspension, I haven't been able to check the bushings yet. I dont think it is a broken shock because when i push down on that side, the strut will cause the body to spring back up like it should. I will double check anyways though.

I also have a question about my clutch pedal. Right around the engagement point it seems to have a really "sticky" feel to it rather than the smooth, linear travel. Is there a bushing, pivot point, etc. that needs to be lubricated? It has also been squeaking a little bit when it is being engaged.

Has anyone had trouble with their roof liner coming off? Any ways to fix it?

The suspension issue could be a bushing but might more likely be the swaybar endlink or bracket. Also check the bushing in the top hate to make sure it hasn't rounded out.
