2000 civic battery draining
Hello,
I have a 2000 civic that my battery keeps dying if the cars sits for 3 days, I thought it was my popper kit that I installed.
the other day I had the heat going in the car, i turned it off but the fan kept going...is their something in my starter that is not cutting off maybe???
Thanks!

RE: 2000 civic battery draining
if there are any shorts in your wiring it could be draining the battery, the fan staying on is normal, i think the hondas do this but i know for sure other cars i have had when i have been driving hard and the engine is still hot when you switch the car off the fan continues to cool until it has reached an acceptable temp

How old is your battery? Your battery may be too old to hold charges and if you let the battery died completely (i.e. forgot to turn off the headlights) then it will never hold charges well.
Fan thing is normal as my94civic mentioned.

If you know that your battery is fine then, as mentioned by my94civic, there is likely an electrical short in the positive battery cable or wire harness leading from the positive battery cable.
