Default 2000 Civic EX issues???

So, first off, this is my first car, ever. And I'm quite clueless as to the inner workings of a car. I'm on here to snoop and learn so I don't waste what little money I have on a mechanic who's going to over-charge me to change everything when nothing is wrong.

This being said, my car squeaks. Well, the back of it. When it is running on a flat surface, no issues. Go 70 on the hwy, no sounds. Go over a bump, it sounds like someone stepped on a squeak-y toy. Or is jumping up and down on it for a solid 3 seconds. Mechanic says there's nothing wrong, but I HEAR IT. And, at 7:30 AM before a bio lecture, it's the last thing I want to hear.

Help?

if you push down the back end, do you hear it? Then it's most likely your struts or suspension component that has become damaged. Squeak usually come from lubricated parts that are no longer lubricated due to damage to a boot or some other protective layer.

I do hear it when I push down on it. What can be done to fix this issue?

the biggest thing is to figure out where exactly the sound is coming from. You'll need some kind of listening device and figure out it is is the struts (i.e. replace them) or if it is something else. A joint might just need some grease. You'll need to do the hard work. Noise from the back can be from several place. There is no way for anyone to tell from here.
