2001 Civic Ex leaking a lot of oil
Hi, my 2001 civic ex 1.7 is leaking an unusually large amount of oil on the front and rear of the engine. Heres a list of things I've changed trying to track down this leak
1. Valve cover gasket
2. The plug near the EGR
3. Oil pump and seal
4. Oil pan gasket
5. Rear main seal
6. Camshaft seal on the timing belt side
7. Those little o rings on the valve cover gasket bolts.
I recently went through this whole engine and redid everything... new head, new valves, new head gasket, pistons, piston rings and pins and all the bearings on the crank and main journal. Rebuilt trans too. I did everything. Runs amazing super smooth. I changed every seal and gasket I could possibly think of and its STILL LEAKING OIL
.
its making me question my sanity. Any suggestions to something I'm over looking please please let me know. I can do all the work myself I just need some direction. Thanks in advance.

did you
1 do a block test to make sure head gasket is not blown if it wasnt seated properly?
2 try changing the oil pan itself? if it was warped from people using a jack on it in the past or from hitting/scraping pavement in bad pothole areas then no matter how many gaskets you install it wil still leak.
could be that driving makes the wind whip the oil up the front and back of the engine a little bit.
my neighbor told me his civic needed a new oil pan cus no matter what it would leak after he did scrape it on a rail road tie or something.
my current civic has the same problem as yours. i had a mechanic check rear main - its fione. i did head gasket and every seal during. i dumped rear main sealer in to make sure. i did valve coiver , oil pump seal, rear cam plug seal (near egr) i did the valve cover o rings, i did the oil pan gasket.... mechanics still told me it was the oil pan gasket. so i bought a new oil pan this time because i had the oil pan gasket re-done by a shop after my job failed; and theirs failed too.
Also; on these civics, both my civics leak at valve cover within months after being changed; even by mechanic shops. so i use right stuff to help seat the new gaskets now (just on the front section) and it seems to help a lot more. ive watched several videos of people on youtube with civics say the same: they just leak at valve cover if you dont do it. which makes no sense to me. maybe valve cover itself has gone warped? or the top of the head? but machine shop would have mic'd it on top just to check for client during machining of the head for gasket job right? or, gaskets arent being made to spec anymoire? did you follow torque settings for valve cover? i tried that and followed honda's torque pattern too; didnt work a bit following the manual. i just drill them down w my power drill any apttern i like now since it makes no darn difference; but with the overtorque setting on highest - so theyre still getting torqued a good 10 ft lbs anyways
IO have yet to change my oil pan itself because i have to get one of the broken off studs out of my engine block first; and its my backup anyways so its been setting. let me know if you figured this out!
