I have had no problems with the transmission up to his point. The car has 146,000 miles on it. Fluid level is good. Its not burned and is still a nice color red.

A couple of weeks ago I was driving with the cruise control on and started up a slight hill. The car went to pick up its speed a lillte and instead of speeding up the car reved out and did not accelerate. In just a few minutes the car would not move forward or backward at all. Got the car towed home. When you start her you can hear what sounds like metal to metal coming form the transmission area.

I think its shot. I really dont want to put any money into the car. With the metal to metal noise I dout it but is there a chance some line might be clogged or its electric?

I came to find out that transmission failure is a common problem with 99-2004 Honda civics. The transmission in my car was shot and I was not going to put $2,500 into it to fix it. Besides with it being a common problem and a lot of people getting less mileage out of their cars there was no guarantee that the repair would last and be worth it. I sold the car and got rid of it.
