Default 2002 Civic EX No Oil Pressure

2002 Civic EX 117K miles. Always has ran great - no problems - well maintained. Eng light illuminated accompanied by low oil pressure light. Engine vibrated. Shut down immediatley. Oil quantity checks normal. Pulled oil filter to gain access to oil switch and found NO OIL in oil filter like it was scavenged out. I am assuming that this is not a false indication and there indeed is no oil pressure. I can put a gauge on it but would rather not run it again. How tough is it to change the oil pump and do they go bad much? I wouldn't think there is many other options except maybe oil pump inlet clogged? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE - EBD2 CODE P1361 TOP DEAD CENTER SENSOR FAULT - I interogated the EBD2 with a borrowed code scout. So if this sensor down by the timing belt is bad I am not sure how that correlates with the low oil pressure warning

First off, check your oil level. Is there any oil in it? I mean by dipstick, not oil filter.

Take the oil pan off and inspect the pickup pipe, if it is broken or the gasket at the top is bad, the pump will suck air.

Default Update - ebd2 code p1361 top dead center sensor fault

I plan to do that. Good advice. I interogated the computer just now with a code scout borrowed from a local auto parts store. I have 1 fault - P1361 - Top Dead Center Sensor Fault. Not sure how that correlates with the low oil pressure light illuminating but it would have gave the car all of the other symptoms...
