2002 Civic LX not charging?

2002 Civic LX not charging?
Battery was getting low and while running was reading 11.6 volts.
Changed alternator, reading 12.3 volts, will stay running if I pull cable off battery.
Currently have car running with lights on to see if battery voltage stops dropping. Started at 12.5 currently at 12.25.
If ac kicks on it drops to 12.1 and comes back up where it was but no higher
