2003 civic lx D17a1 burnt valves
I have a no start situation with no compression. The dealer disassembled the head and showed me burnt valves, requiring an expensive repair. The tech said high octane gas would do this over time, but I have never used anything but 87 regular, so that is not the explanation. What could cause this at 65000 miles on a smooth running engine with no trouble codes, miss, or valve noise?

OK. Here goes...bought granddaughter 1988 civic w/ 1.5. Had bad exhaust valve-burnt however no smoke
