Default 2004 Hybrid idle issue

Hello all,

Car in question is a 2004 Hybrid with 71,000 miles. I bought this car used and I've got to say it runs like a dream.

I've noticed one minor issue; once the car is fully warmed up, say after a 20 mile trip, if the engine is turned off for any length of time, upon restart it will not hold idle, it dies. If I tap the accelerator right after it starts, it holds idle perfectly. It never dies at a idle once it's running normally (other than the normal hybrid shutoff thing). It never fails to start and run properly when it comes out of hybrid shutoff. The problem only occurs when the engine is manually turned off, then back on, once it's fully warm.

Just had the dealer do a full 60k service on it as I didn't know history. I decided not to have them look at this issue as they wanted to go on fishing expedetion with my wallet.

Thanks, Chris

Lol, not much i can say working on a hybrid requires a total diffrent type of mechanics you have to go to school an extra year to learn about hybrids in my area there are only 5 hybrid mechanics one is in fresno, san diego, fountian valley, so in other words if you live where i live you go to drive 100+ miles to get your car serviced if its a hybrid.

Eh. Id go back to the dealership and see if I could convince them that the work they did was what caused the idle problem, because it never happened before.
